In addition, another commentor said it was Windows update which broke his dragon center. So now, my machine is working but I'm terrified to update dragon center. In particular there's a "meeting" profile which does the trick. With the factory version of dragon center it is working. Anyway, after the recovery I again ran all windows updates (but not 1903) and this time I did NOT update dragon center. The ONLY reason I considered this option was because the machine was new, I had only just finished setup, and hadn't installed any games or programs yet. It will overwrite your C drive completely.

It actually uses a recovery partition on the drive to restore the factory image. One of them is troubleshooting and there should be an option to factory restore MSI. Reboot and keep pressing F3 on reboot and you'll get to a blue screen with options. No solution was offered so I did a factory restore on the PC. In the windows event logs I can see it complaining about KERNELBASE.DLL which I googled and this has happened before in the last few years, with dragon center but also with unrelated apps. Then I decided to update dragon center to the latest version from the MSI website, and this broke dragon center.

Took it out of box, ran all windows updates (but not the 1903 feature update). Rule 2// The screw holes between the two fans must be 15mm width on the radiator for either 120mm or 140mm UNI FAN.This happened to me this week with almost the same model as you (I have the 478 from Best buy). Rule 1// The tubes of the radiator must avoid the tenon of the UNI FAN and be at the safe area, which is in grey in the image. Radiators that doesn’t follow bellow rule:.CORSAIR Hydro Series™ H110i GT 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler.CORSAIR iCUE H115i RGB PRO XT Liquid CPU Cooler.Listed radiators are known not compatible with UNI FAN.To connect more devices, please update to L-Connect 2 (reference to update guide) and use 2 or more controllers. Do not connect more than 10 UNI FANs (device up to 21W) to the controller (UNI HUB) when performing white static color.(Update your motherboard BIOS if necessary) Please enter your motherboard BIOS and set the correspondent fan header at PWM mode. Please note that the single-pack version does not contain this controller.

To control all 16 UNI FANs (4 fans each cluster) in one go, a controller is needed, no matter control with L-Connect software or sync to the motherboard. Purchase a three-pack SL120 or a two-pack SL140(including a controller) as the starter kit for fully experienced UNI FANs with L-Connect.
